Why Our Efforts Are
Crucial?
The prolonged crisis in Syria has significantly devastated the country’s health infrastructure and system. Impoverishment has also led to an increase in malnutrition and contributed to epidemic outbreaks across the country.
The World Health Organization (WHO) revealed in a 2017 report that “more than half the country’s hospitals, clinics and primary health care (PHC) centres were only partially functioning or had been damaged beyond repair.” The report highlighted that “millions of people had no access to health care or had to travel long distances to obtain it.”
